Keep reading for an exclusive first look at the all-new Ford F-150.

The All New 2024 Ford F-150

The Ford F-150, one of America’s best-selling pickup trucks, will receive a refresh in 2024. While Ford is yet to confirm the official details for the 2024 F-150, Ford Authority reports speculation that a new trim might be coming to the lineup: the performance-oriented Lobo trim. Ford uses the Lobo name in Mexico (the Spanish word for “wolf”). Now, it might be coming to the U.S., featuring an aggressive stance and lowered ride height.

Other changes to the Ford F-150 will likely be minimal. It will continue to be available in various body styles, bed lengths, and wheelbases, allowing drivers to customize the truck for their needs. The Ford F-150 exudes strength and toughness with its muscular stance and high-strength steel frame. But on the inside, it provides plenty of refined amenities to make every ride comfortable, from the job site to the open road.

Performance and Fuel Economy

Ford has indicated that it wants to continue to enhance its hybrid vehicles rather than jumping straight to electric. Of course, drivers who prefer all-electric power can check out the F-150’s battery-powered sibling — the F-150 Lightning. Sticking with the F-150 lineup, though, a new hybrid variant may enter the scene in 2024. This variant might be an upgrade to the existing F-150 hybrid, which comes with a 3.5L PowerBoost V-6 engine and electric motor, combining for 430 horsepower. It might also be an entirely new hybrid version.

The 2024 F-150 will continue to come in several other powertrains, including gas versions. The truck currently achieves a maximum of 450 horsepower with the 3.5L twin-turbo engine under the hood of the F-150 Raptor. Every F-150 engine currently pairs with a 10-speed automatic for smooth handling. The F-150 can also handle the toughest jobs, with a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds. That’s likely to remain similar in 2024, so drivers can rest assured that they’ll be able to tow a trailer to the job site or take their boat on a weekend to the lake.

Unsurprisingly, the Ford F-150 hybrid gets the best combined fuel economy on the Southern California roadways. The outgoing hybrid makes 25 mpg highway, 25 mpg city, and 25 mpg combined, allowing drivers to go farther between filling up. Those estimates remain the same for the 2024 model, but they may improve with the possible introduction of a new hybrid variant. Other current versions of the F-150 get up to 22 mpg combined, similar to other pickup trucks in the same class.

Specs and Design

The Ford F-150 means business, and it shows throughout its design. In 2024, the F-150 could get refreshed interior and exterior styling. On the outside, drivers can expect new headlights, taillights, and an updated front grille. Currently, the F-150 comes in three cab varieties with seating for up to six passengers. Bed options range from 5.5 to 8 feet in length. Those options should carry over into the 2024 model, along with LED box lighting and a power tailgate for added convenience.

Inside, the F-150 will continue to offer dozens of comfort features, contrasting its rugged exterior with a luxurious interior. A productivity screen shows value information in the dash, including available drive modes. Most current trims come with dual-zone climate control and heated front seats to keep passengers comfortable in every season. Available convenience features will likely remain available in the 2024 F-150, such as the interior work surface that folds from the center console for a place to set up a laptop or jot down notes.

Technology

The Ford F-150 already comes loaded with advanced technology and infotainment features, and there’s no reason to believe that won’t continue in 2024. Ford may add a larger touch screen in the next model year, potentially matching the 15.5-inch screen in the F-150 Lightning. The touch screen provides smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which should continue to come standard in the 2024 F-150. Similarly, the standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability will likely carry over into the new F-150.

Comfort

The Ford F-150 can fit three to six passengers, depending on the cab style. Whether riding in the front or the back, each passenger enjoys plenty of space and legroom. Passengers get a maximum of 43.9 inches of legroom in the front. In SuperCrew versions, the back seat offers nearly identical legroom, with 43.6 inches of space for rear passengers. That means that even tall adults can ride comfortably in the back. These figures might change slightly in 2024, but they should remain similar.

Cloth seats will likely continue to come standard in the 2024 F-150, with available premium options including leather-trimmed upholstery. There are 60/40-split rear seats that flip and fold in four-door crew-cab versions, providing extra storage space for tools, gear, and other cargo.

Safety Features

Ford prioritizes safety across its vehicle lineup, and the F-150 is no exception. Current safety features that should remain in the 2024 F-150 include curve control, roll stability control, and a rearview camera with hitch assist so drivers can easily see behind the truck. In addition, Ford offers numerous driver-assistance features as either standard or available in the F-150. In 2024, these will likely include the following:

  • A blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert.
  • Pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking.
  • Post-collision braking.
  • A lane-keeping system.
  • Trailer reverse guidance.
  • Automatic high-beam headlights.
  • Adaptive cruise control.
  • A forward sensing system.
